Смирението е Божествена особина на која лично не учи Богочовекот Исус Христос Христос Кој рекол: Поуичете се од мене зашто сум кроток и смирен по срце и Кој Самиот со Својот живот го потврди тоа смирувајќи се дури до смрт и тоа смрт на Крст ( крстната смрт во тоа време била најсрамната казна).
Блажени се бедните по дух зашто нивно е Царството Божјо , тоа е цврстиот камен во Евангелието на која е изградена зградата.( куќата) и само на чистите по срце може да и се открие тајната на смирението.Како што гордоста е почеток на сите гревови така и смирението е почеток и основа на секоја добродетел.
Смирението е присуство на благодатта на Светиот Дух. Покајанието, плачот и смирението се неразделно поврзани една со друга и неможат да се замислат една без друга.
Смирениот човек е со чисто срце и смирен ум и ослободен од секоја грешна страст и помисла. Почеток на смирението е кога на неправдите и искушенијата не им одговараме со збор или дело, а со помислите се бориме со Исусовата молитва: Господи Исусе Христе, помилуј ме , принудувајќи се да ја прифатиме помислата: Јас сум виновен за се. Средината е кога благодариме за искушенијата и им се радуваме, а третиот степен е кога исчистени од страстите искушенијата и не ги забележуваме, ги сакаме (љубиме) и се молиме за оние кои не повредуваат и ги земаме на себе гревовите на другиот.
Смирението е ослободување од секаква надменост и самољубие. Кога не караат трпиме, а кога не фалат не се гордееме.
Смирението е добродетел на умот.
Заради нашата заробеност од гордоста, смирението тешко се здобива иако и е природно на душата. Затоа е потребна голема борба. Најсигурен лек против гордостта е послушанието и духовното раководство под духовен отец.
Да се дојде до блаженото смирение е потребен непоколеблив и постојан дух, да се испитува совестта, и да се внимава на себе и сите свои постапки, зборови, погледи, мисли и помисли. Средства за стекнување на блаженото смирение се благодаственото прифаќање на сите настани и околности во животот, сиромаштвото, болест, трепењето на маки и неправди…
Смиреномудриот ќе го познаеш по неговата кротост, тој секогаш е тивок, умилен, сострадален, скромен, безгрижен, секогаш трезвен, немрзелив, усрден, ненеметлив или едноставно кажано без никаков порок или бестрастен, односно исчистен по срце. Тој никогашне осудува, не се кара, не се гордее…
Смиреанието ги уништува гордоста, самољубието, високото мислење за себе, самобендисаноста, суетата, омразата, противречењето, своеглавостта…
Треба да разликуваме. Едно е да бидеме смирени, друго е да се подвизуваме во смирение, а трето да го фалиме Господ.

Homily on humility
Humility is God’s characteristic which The God-Man Jesus Christ personally teaches us when He said: Learn from me, since I am meek and humble in heart, Who throughout His life, proved the same, humbling Himself until His death, the death on the Cross (the death on the cross used to be the most shameful punishment).
Blessed are the humble-minded, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs; it is the hard rock in the Epistle on which the building (the house) is erected, and only the pure in heart can discover the secret of humility. In the way in which pride is the beginning of all sins, so is humility the beginning of all good deeds.
Humility is the presence of the Holy Spirit. Repentance, cry and humility are inseparably connected one with the other and cannot be imagined one without the other.
The humble person has a pure heart and humble mind free from every sinful passion and thought. The beginning of humility is when we do not react with a word or a deed to the injustices and temptations, and we fight with the thoughts saying the Jesus Prayer: God Jesus Christ, have mercy on me, forcing ourselves to accept the thought: I am responsible for everything. We are in the middle when we are thankful for our temptations and are happy for them, and we are at the third level when being clean from passions we do not even notice them, we want (love) them and we pray for those that hurt us and take the other peoples’ sins upon ourselves.
Humility is being free from every arrogance and self-esteem. When they scold us we endure, and when they praise us we do not take pride.
Humbleness is a good deed of the mind.
Because of our captivity by the pride, humility is very hard to achieve although it is very natural to the soul. That is why a tough struggle is needed. The most secure remedy against pride is obedience and spiritual guidance by a spiritual father.
In order to achieve the blessed humility we need to have a firm and permanent spirit, to examine our conscience, to keep an eye on ourselves and all our actions, words, glances, thoughts and intentions. The means of achieving blessed humility are: the thankful acceptance of all events and circumstances in life, poverty, illness, endurance in hardships and injustices…
You will recognize the humble person by his meekness, he is always silent, tender, compassionate, modest, carefree, always sober, diligent, concentrated, unintrusive or simply told without any vice or passionless, with a pure heart. He never judges, he never scolds, he never takes pride…
Humility destroys pride, self-esteem, the high thoughts of ourselves, vanity, hatred, contradiction, strong-headedness…
We should differentiate. It is one thing to be humble, another to impose humility upon ourselves, and third to praise God.
Humility is like an anchor for us in order not to be lost in pride and spiritual delusion. It protects us from vaunt.
Humility brings grace and peace in heart and only those who indulge themselves into it feel it and notice it.
Through humility we reach the fear from God, and the fear from God bears love. Humility strengthens all sensible deeds, setting them free from passions and above all from vanity and pride, and the devils run away from it. As in one occasion when the devil, filling himself with anger and envy, said to one monk: “You hold vigil and sleep very little, and I do not sleep at all, but there is one thing that you defeat me in, you humbleness banishes me”.
